What the pants?

Here’s my question of the day. Why, oh why, are the pockets sewn shut on women’s shorts and pants when you buy them? Seriously. It is ridiculously annoying. I like pockets. I like them even better when I can get my hands in them. Men don’t have this problem. Their pockets are blissfully open, ready to accept hands, wallets, cash, condoms, an old sock, whatever they see fit to carry in their pockets. And yet, we women have to suffer with breaking out the scissors and carefully cutting through the thread bounding our poor pockets together. Isn’t sewing the pockets together actually an extra step in making the pants/shorts? Couldn’t you clothes makers save time by just leaving the pockets open? Isn’t it a waste of thread? Are there women out there that just love their pockets being useless? If so, why? Why do you not love your pockets?

I find it irritating. Who can I call?
